For a few hours Microsoft has been offering a new Preview of Windows 11. This build 25179 does not bring any major changes. This is mainly a release focused on improvements and optimizations.
Available for download, Windows 11 Build 25179 is offered through the DEV channel of the Windows Insider program. Microsoft announces an update to the spelling dictionary. A list of language-neutral words is deployed. It will normally be synchronized across all devices using the same Windows account. This option is available at the following address
Paramètres > Comptes > sauvegarde Windows > Mémoriser mes préférences > Préférences de langue.
One of the most striking facts, however, concerns the file explorer. The version supporting tabs is now deployed on all machines registered on the DEV channel. The test phase on a limited number of machines is over.
Finally we have some improvements around the inputs including the addition of the Tamil Anjal keyboard. On this subject Redmond specifies that it is a very popular keyboard
We add Anjal Tamil keyboard for Tamil language. It’s a popular keyboard for typing Tamil characters, so if you speak this language, give it a try! This keyboard is currently rolling out to a subset of Insiders while we assess quality. To add it (once it’s available), make sure Tamil (India) is listed under Settings > time & language > language & region, then click the “…” button next to the language, select Language Options and add it to the list of keyboards.
All this little world is only available on the DEV channel. As often Microsoft does not offer any calendar and does not mention any date of deployment to the general public. Note that Microsoft has also published new installation ISOs for this version. You can find them here.
