On August 24, the day after the tenth anniversary of the death of Jean-Luc Delarue, TF1 will broadcast a documentary produced by Reservoir Prod, the production company of the animator-producer who disappeared. This will retrace the career of its founder, one of the most prominent producers of French television during the 90s and 2000s. do TV.
Why does TF1 honor a personality who has spent most of his career on Canal + and especially France 2? Many are asking the question. Reservoir Prod replied.
Eve Ewing, Managing Director of Reservoir Prod, explains that she wanted to stay loyal to people Reservoir Prod has worked with in the past. In 2015, for the 3 years of the death of Jean-Luc Delarue, a documentary had already been produced and broadcast on D8. At the time, it was Ara Aprikian and Xavier Gandon who were on the line. Now both at TF1, “It is therefore out of loyalty that we proposed this new project to the same team”said Eve Ewing.
A choice all the easier since France 2, requested, did not respond to the proposal of the production company of the deceased animator-producer. “I didn’t get an answer and so I decided to move forward with TF1”.
The first French channel did not hesitate. “The subject is not whether Jean-Luc Delarue worked more for TF1, for France 2 or for another channel. The story alone justifies a documentary. […] For us, it is to pay homage to someone who marked the history of television and whose programs are still on the air today. Jean-Luc Delarue imported a new way of doing television”, confided Rémy Faure, director of flow programs at TF1 contacted by Pure Media.
