WhatsApp on Android tablets is finally available for some users

SoftwareImportant news from WhatsApp. After the rumors from a few months ago, there is a new feature in the works: it is the “companion mode for multi-device”, thanks to which users will be able to connect their accounts to a secondary mobile device . The function, as previously written, is still under development, however the developers are releasing a particular version of this mode in order to allow users to connect their account to an Android tablet. To do this, you must:

– Open WhatsApp settings
– Click on “Connected devices”
– Scan the QR code.

Thereafter, chats will begin to sync between connected devices. As soon as this process is completed, you will be able to use the application on your Android tablet, even without an Internet connection on your mobile (even if it is an iPhone). Obviously, since this is a feature that has not yet been fully developed, some options may not yet be available, as well as the GUI, in the future, may undergo some adjustments. In any case, at least so far, this new feature is only available to certain beta testers, while for the official release nothing has been communicated yet. Still on WhatsApp, finally, a week ago another function rather expected by users was formalized: the possibility of importing a backup thanks to the new option “Export backup”, which does not require the activation of a Wi-Fi connection nor to have a local backup created automatically by the application.
