VOO launches a TV light subscription less interesting than that of… its sub-brand

The TV decoder goes by the wayside, as is the possibility of recording programs. Only the seven-day replay remains. Price: €9 per month, compared to €14 per month for classic digital TV (80 channels, TV decoder, possibility of recording). Price once combined with Internet: €56 per month with Internet Super Relax (speed 200 Mbps), €67 per month with Internet Giga Max subscription (speed up to 1 Gbps).

Zuny, Orange and Base already in the niche

This is VOO’s second foray into the field. Its sub-brand Zuny has been offering a similar formula since October 2020. Casually, this is a trend that is gradually developing in Belgium. Tenant of VOO cable, Orange has also combined Internet connection and TV light since September 2021. Led by Base, the Tadaam service recovers the mobile signal (3G/4G) to broadcast Internet and a limited bouquet of TV channels in your home.

VOO less interesting than Zuny

The major (and paradoxical) conclusion of this comparison is that VOO’s light TV is less interesting than that of its Zuny sub-brand. Content level first: if Zuny includes four channels less, the service benefits from a bouquet of series which will soon relay House of the Dragon (HBO). Financial level then: €46 per month at Zuny, €56 at VOO.

Taking into account the temporary promotions, here is what the two services will cost you after twelve months:

  • Zuny + TV channels: €492. In detail: six months at €36 per month, six months at €46 per month. Modem, activation and installation included.
  • VOO Internet Super Relax + TV Light: €564. In detail: six months at €38 per month, six months at €56 per month. Action and installation offered.

For large families, VOO retains the advantage. On the overwhelming majority of channels, its TV Light allows five simultaneous connections.
