As at the Cannes Film Festival or at the Oscars ceremony, the parades of the stars on the red carpet of the Lido are among the unmissable moments of the Venice festival. From Catherine Deneuve to Timothée Chalamet, via Cate Blanchett, Penelope Cruz, Virginie Efira, Julianne Moore and Olivia Wilde, the public has already been amazed since the opening of the Mostra on Wednesday.
the tireless Catherine Deneuve came to the Lido between two shoots to receive an honorary Golden Lion during the opening ceremony. The 78-year-old star posed in front of photographers’ lenses, looking flawless in her blood-red dress.
Red is also the color of the very daring outfit chosen by the 26-year-old Franco-American actor. Timothée Chalamet: blurring the masculine-feminine codes, he wore a jumpsuit with a plunging bare back in lamé fabric. He defends in Venice the colors of “Bones and all”, the cannibal road movie signed by the Italian filmmaker Luca Guadagnino, in the running for the Golden Lion.
The president of the Venetian jury, the American actress Julianne Mooredid not hesitate to opt for a transparent outfit, revealing all of her legs during the opening ceremony on Wednesday evening.
The French Isabelle Huppertthe protagonist of “La syndicaliste” by Jean-Paul Salomé, chose for her part sobriety with a very covering dress revealing only her hands, embellished with a necklace and a bracelet.
Not everyone has the audacity of Chalamet: the American comedian Adam Driver opted for a classic tuxedo for the evening presentation of “White noise”, the opening film of the Mostra.
Look very wise also for the Spanish star Penelope Cruzwho wore a long black dress with pink foliage patterns on Sunday evening for the presentation of “L’immensità”, the Italian film in competition in which she plays a mother on the verge of depression, helpless in the face of her family in the Rome of the 70s.
As for Trace Lysettethe transgender actress starring in “Monica”, a moving film about a transgender woman who comes to the bedside of her dying mother after twenty years of absence, she performed a masterstroke by discovering her legs with a dress- orange boa.
Virginie Efira, she unveiled an impeccable style on the red carpet of the Venice Film Festival this Saturday. In competition with the film “The Children of Others” by Rebecca Zlotowski, the actress appeared in an elegant red dress with a plunging neckline. A simple but effective look, reflecting the style of our compatriot.
Another remarkable appearance during the 79ᵉ edition of the Mostra: that of the actress Olivia Wilde, who came to present her new film “Don’t Worry Darling” alongside her darling Harry Styles, a supporting role in the feature film. For the occasion, the 38-year-old actress donned a sumptuous yellow dress from the Italian house Valentino.
