But also this evening of 2019 which turned into a nightmare, the one where he was the victim of a rape. “It was in 2019. With someone from my circle, someone I trusted, we left for the evening. I came home from that evening with him. I had had two-three glasses, but I didn’t feel what you feel when you drink two-three glasses. I was clearly under the influence of a substance that I did not want to take. I started to have blackouts, moments when I no longer had my memory. I was waking up and it was happening which can be translated as a sexual assault. It was rape. I woke up the next morning. He was in my bed. I did not understand why. And I said to myself: Don’t ask questions, don’t say anything, move on, move on.”

This bad memory, Bilal Hassani explains it in “What time is it”, a song from his new album. However, he had already spoken about the subject in another song before. “InLight Off‘, last year, i was talking about a house being broken into. In fact, it was my body. My fans didn’t understand. That’s why I decided to be clear. I wanted to do another song on it to get rid of it. The recording of the title was awful, but it made me feel good.
