Three hotel complexes, 450 rooms, 2,000 customers per day: how Parc Astérix wants to become “a short-stay destination”

A light mist rises over the Hôtel de la Cité Suspendue. Under the stilts that support the wooden houses, the swamp reminds us that the City of Light, also partially built on a dead arm of the Seine, is only 35 kilometers away. Built in 2018, the wooden bridges that lead from one house to another constituting this vast hotel make you forget the stupors and tremors that reach the park, a stone’s throw from the rooms. In the latter, moreover, exceptional comfort and a decor where nothing is left to chance. Even the toilet paper holder seems to come straight from a Gallic village! Of course, for Parc Astérix, roller coasters are no longer enough, it then opens up as a real pole of tourist attraction.

With La Cité Suspendue and Les Trois Hiboux, the hotel Les Quais de Lutèce completes the trilogy, and not just in any way. “We are really in the boxes of comics”, welcomes Guy Vassel, Deputy Director General of the park. And it’s true that the river that crosses the houses of Paris from the Gallic era, the workshops of Amérix (the billhook maker in the universe of Uderzo and Goscinny), and the rooms that can accommodate up to four people have something to impress.

New gem earns four stars and brings resort total rooms to 450, accommodating 2,000 guests each night, and peaking at 95% occupancy. “It’s part of the strategy to become a short-stay destination. Today, people come to spend a day in the park on Saturday, spend the night at the hotel, and visit the castles of the region on Sunday. “ nice combo“but we added a lot of attractions to the park, staying in a hotel surrounded by nature”without missing the slightest dizziness. “We also realize that satisfaction is higher when we stay, because we also realize that people take advantage of the catering, the hotel industry, and the park.”

Among the hotel guests, 60% are families, 25% come from outside the national borders.

Depending on the rooms and options reserved (we can only recommend the bar and the restaurant of the hotels, of course always in the theme), Guy Vassel estimates that it is necessary to count around 80 euros per person for two days and one night on the park, but the prices vary according to the formulas and the dates of reservation. A family coming to spend two days and one night must plan around 500 euros, without cover.
