Her name is Elisabeth Thérèse Marie Hélène, 32nd Duchess of Brabant, but Belgium and the whole world now know her much more as Elisabeth, future Queen of the Belgians. She is the first woman to ascend the throne following the repeal of Salic Law in 1991.

This Tuesday, October 25, the young woman celebrates her 21st birthday. After 20 years the age of all possibilities, is 21 the age when we face the impossible? The eldest child of the royal couple cannot indeed claim a life “like the others”, made up of ups and downs, boyfriends, nonsense and great successes highlighted on social networks…

Each year, this impossibility imposes itself a little more while its official role and its notoriety as well as its popularity are gaining momentum. Her parents, King Philip and Queen Mathilde, however, protected her as much as possible, sending her in particular to study in Wales and then in Oxford, where she was able to flourish in the safety of the famous “colleges“British.

But nothing to do: Elisabeth shines within the royal family of Belgium, her place as eldest gives her light, but it is her title of presumptive queen that adds to the spotlight! The discretion to which she has clung naturally all her life is taking on water.

Thus a magazine recently investigated its possible suitors, Hello Magazine began following in her footsteps during her military training and finds her “different” from other princesses. One more pressure finally for this very young woman who is now world famous.

And this without yet going into the political debates that can agitate the country when it comes to talking about endowment… So we learned at the age of 18 that the young girl could claim 920,000 euros annually. A sum that she refused until she finished her studies and that she could in fact receive when she will have her own “House”, that is to say advisers and a truly official role. The beginning of the end of a certain lightness.
