Game news Star Wars Eclipse: an Empire never seen before in the saga? Quantic Dream’s RPG begins to unfold

We still know very little about Star Wars Eclipse. The game, carried by Quantic Dream, was unveiled last year at the Game Awards with a breathtaking trailer. Since then, almost no news. Today, we learn more about the universe to discover in this future title, especially around the plot and the characters.

Scheduled for a date far, far away

At the moment, we know almost nothing about star wars eclipse, one of the next projects from the Quantic Dream studio. Renowned for its narrative titles, the studio’s CV logically lets us think of the same thing for Eclipse, without us being able to find out more. For the moment, we only know the framework in which the plot of the software will take place, namely the era of the High Republic, the golden age of the Jedi.

And that’s about it. For the moment, whether Disney or Quantic Dream, no one really communicates on the title. A logical observation, since the game would not be about to come out. According to the first information, Star Wars Eclipse would not be released before… 2027! Whether we trust these predictions or not, it’s hard to believe in an upcoming release as it is.

However, things are slowly starting to move forward. Today we learn for example some interesting details on the lore of the game, which should exploit elements still unpublished for the Star Wars universe.

A lore never seen before

Recent elements from official documents reported in the podcast of Sacred Symbols (paying) come to shed some light on the still very cryptic project. We must already understand Star Wars Eclipse is still in its infancy according to Colin Moriarty, presenter of the podcast.

From what I can tell, the game hasn’t even really entered production yet.

According to the podcast, the title would be co-written by David Cage, founder of the studio, and Adam Williams, who had previously worked on Detroit: Become Human.

Then, and this is where it gets interesting, the podcast continues and reveals several elements of the game’s lore. According to Sacred Symbols, the software should introduce a race never seen before in the Star Wars universe, the Zaraan, which are similar to humans. One of the main characters would be a woman, who is currently called Sarah, and should form an antagonistic dynamic with her husband Xendo. Explanations.

Still according to Sacred Symbols, the Zaraan would form a conquering Empire (which has nothing to do with the Galactic Empire of the films), which does not hesitate to politically and militarily attack the other factions. The Zaraans would have a society quite similar to what has already been featured in the Star Wars universe, where men and women have the same roles and responsibilities. However, the small specificity of the Zaraan is in their marriages. When the Zaraans get married, their couple acquires a special status as they together form a single entity.

In fact, this idea would pose a problem for Sarah, who firmly believes in the acts of violence of her State, while her husband wants to be much more flexible and pacifist. The title could then revolve around the relationship of these two characters, and their influence on the political issues of their nation.

For now, these are the first main lines of the plot that have been revealed. It is uncertain whether this is the final storyline, or even whether these two characters are the definitive protagonists or more secondary characters. We will have to wait for more information from Quantic Dream and Disney before saying anything, but the fact remains that this assumption is particularly attractive.
