News hardware Smartphone: 35 malicious software have been detected on Android! here is the list

Even if Android gives its users greater freedom than those with iOS smartphones, a major flaw is still around. Indeed, anyone can create and publish applications on the Play Store, including malicious people. 35 malwares have been detected, here are the ones.

Attention ! Your Android smartphone may have a virus!

It was the security experts at BitDefender who alerted to the arrival of 35 malicious applications on the Play Store.

Indeed, the Play Store being very easy to access for developers, many applications land on the service every day. Obviously, who says a lot of software, necessarily says the risk of finding fraudulent applications.

This is the case of 35 software that have been recently found, but above all, which total no less than 2 million downloads.

These applications are dangerous for your smartphone, but above all very discreet. Indeed, hackers have found a way to divert your attention: change the name and logo of the application after downloading. So, when you look for the application you just installed, you will simply think that it was downloaded incorrectly. But nay, she is there, siphoning off your personal data.

These applications usually run advertisements in the background in order to generate money, all under your nose.

Even smarter, some of these applications automatically redirect you to another application already installed on your smartphone, in order to make you believe that you have not downloaded anything. Thus, these software can be installed on your smartphone without you noticing them.

Another tactic that has been detected by BitDefender is simply to turn a virus-free application on your smartphone into malware via an update. If you thought you had downloaded a simple game on your smartphone, it could be that an update of the latter turns it into malware.

Hackers’ tactics change, discretion is required and these malwares quietly siphon off your data (contacts, sms, codes, etc.).

With this wave of malicious apps swarming the Play Store, you better be careful. Always check the applications you download, a large number of downloads is not necessarily a good sign. Check the user reviews but also the descriptions of the applications which are often very badly translated.

Also, check what permissions an app asks you for. If a simple game requests access to your contacts or personal files, it is not necessarily a good sign.
