This Sunday, September 18, Russian star Alla Pougatcheva shared a message on her Instagram account asking Russian justice to add her to the list of foreign agents. This request follows the addition of her husband to this list.

Alla Pugacheva is a Russian singer and actress who began her career fifty years ago. She has become an icon in Russia and in several countries of the former USSR. During her career, she is the source of more than 500 songs written in 8 different languages.

With the status that is hers, she does not hesitate to take a stand in geopolitical conflicts. She did so in 2014 by positioning herself against the annexation of Crimea.

In February, the diva and her husband flew to Israel, which was poorly received in Russia.

For more than a week, the couple has been back in Russia, but Maxime Galkin, husband of Alla Pougatcheva, has been considered as a foreign agent. It was following this that the 73-year-old singer posted a message on Instagram wishing “freedom of expression” and “an end to the death of our boys for illusory objectives which make our country a pariah and weigh on the lives of our citizens”. She did so in solidarity with her husband, a person she describes as ‘honest, upright and sincere, a true Russian patriot, incorruptible, who wants his homeland to prosper and live in peace with freedom of expression’ .
