PS5: faced with the lack of stock, Amazon launches a queue – CNET France

Released since November 2020, Sony’s latest console will soon blow out its second candle and yet it still seems difficult to get a PlayStation 5. Indeed, when it arrives, stocks disappear quickly and return either to the bots or to the lucky ones page refresh.

To give everyone a chance and incidentally avoid a massive influx of requests on its servers, Amazon is changing the method of selling the PS5 and setting up a queuing system.

Instead of the purchase button, now appears an invitation request allowing the reseller to create a waiting list. If it is not possible to know in advance the waiting time (which depends on a lot of factors), Amazon specifies that in case of acceptance, an e-mail will be sent with a link valid for 72 hours.

A good way for the company to satisfy its “regular” customers by eliminating the problem of bots. If you want to take advantage of Amazon stock returns, we advise you to register as soon as possible in order to be placed higher in the queue.
