On October 28, 2022, Princess Leonor had around her her two grandmothers, Queen Sofia and Paloma Rocasolano, her parents, King Felipe and Queen Letizia, and her younger sister, Infanta Sofia. Princess Leonor presided over the Princess of Asturias Awards Ceremony, the main ceremony organized by her foundation of which she has been the honorary president since acquiring the title of Princess of Asturias reserved for the heiress to the throne.

This event, organized in Oviedo, is the main official commitment currently ensured by the teenager who will celebrate her 17th birthday in a handful of days. She studies at the UWC Atlantic College in Wales and takes advantage of the autumn school holidays granted to British students to ensure some commitments in Spain, including the award ceremony of her foundation.

Chanel feather-shaped earrings borrowed from Queen Letizia

For this great moment, Princess Leonor wore a dress with black and white sequins that formed palm leaves. The palms can also evoke feathers, as underlined by the earrings chosen by the Princess of Asturias. She wore Chanel feather-shaped earrings, a model already worn by Queen Letizia. The dress, meanwhile, signed Michael Kors, had never been seen either on Leonor or on Letizia, who frequently lends her clothes to her daughters. On her feet, Princess Leonor wore a pair of black leather pumps from Carolina Herrera.

Awarding prizes is the main activity of the Princess of Asturias Foundation, whose objective is to “to contribute to the promotion of all the scientific, cultural and humanistic values ​​which are a universal heritage and which consolidate the existing links between the Principality of Asturias and the title traditionally held by the heirs of the Crown of Spain”, explains Casa Real.
