Like Harry, William cultivates special ties with South Africa. It is therefore with great emotion that the 40-year-old prince learned of the sudden death of a local personality who was dear to him. Anton Mzimba, a famous ranger, was shot dead outside his home.

Prince William and Anton Mzimba had met in 2021 during a ranger trip to Reading. They had spoken at length about the poaching of elephants against which the South African was deploying all his energy. Other rangers have died in recent months in South Africa.
