Polestar has just unveiled in full its first SUV, equipped with a very large battery. The 3 could arrive in France at the end of 2023 or the beginning of 2024.

After having published some photos and elements of the technical sheet in recent weeks, Polestar has completely lifted the veil on the 3, its first SUV. A large fighter, which measures 4.90 meters in length. But the silhouette is energized by a roof that dips once the doors are complete.

However, do not talk about a coupe SUV, for that there will be the Polestar 4 version. Moreover, the bezel retains a very vertical aspect. At the front, the hood is plunging. At the location of the grille, there is the “Smart Zone”, which houses sensors and radars. Above, for aero, a slot allows air to pass through, which comes out on the hood.

The discovery of the day is the cabin. The design of the dashboard is in line with that of the sedan 2, with a large central screen, which replaces almost all the physical controls. This 14.5-inch screen displays an interface designed by Google. Polestar retains a small digital instrumentation facing the driver.

Thanks to an XXL wheelbase of 2.99 metres, the 3 will offer great roominess in the rear seats. But this model is content with 5 seats, and the trunk has a capacity of 484 liters, counting 90 liters under the floor, a disappointing volume given the size. A small 32-litre trunk is added to the front.

The model inaugurates a new technical base, which will be taken over by the Volvo EX90. To begin with, the Polestar 3 is offered in Dual Motor, therefore with two motors, which give a power of 360 kW, or 489 hp. A Performance variant provides 380 kW, or 517 hp. The vehicle goes from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.0 seconds (4.7 seconds with the Performance package). There is a very large battery of 111 kWh (nominal capacity). According to the WLTP mixed cycle, we have a range of 610 km. Charging can be done with direct current 250 kW.

The French customer must still wait, however, as Polestar still does not mention a launch with us. We remind you that the brand is no longer blocked by Citroën. Customers in markets where Polestar is already available will also need to be patient, as the first deliveries of the 3 are scheduled for late… 2023.

As an indication, in Belgium, the model is launched at a price of 89,900 €. Standard equipment includes the panoramic roof, air suspension or a high-end 25-speaker sound system.
