PlayStation Stars: Sony’s loyalty program that rewards gamers – Newsmonkey

This Tuesday evening during the State of Play, Sony presented its new loyalty program: PlayStation Stars. The principle is simple: offer digital rewards to players. And to get them, nothing could be simpler: just play.

The new PlayStation Stars program will launch before the end of the year. This is a rewards program for PS4 and PS5 players. The latter will be able to obtain rewards simply by using their console.

How does it work ? Players will be able to complete challenges, such as unlocking a particular trophy, to earn loyalty points. These points can then be exchanged for goodies or other gifts. This new program will first be tested in Asia before arriving in North America and Europe in the coming weeks.

What rewards?

Sony still explained what it was possible to win with these new loyalty points. For example, it will be possible to convert these points into PSN funds that can be used to buy games on the PS Store, and this can be really interesting. It will also be possible to unlock collectible digital items. Sony has already unveiled some of them, these are mainly virtual figurines referring to Sony games.

According to Sony, there will always be new content up for grabs. As a result, the list of gifts will be constantly updated. That said, it is possible that players prefer purchases on the PS Store even if collectors are numerous in the world of gaming. In any case, players will have nothing to lose since this program will be free.
