Official Snapdragon 6 and Snapdragon 4 Gen 1: power accessible to all

MaterialQualcomm confirms itself as one of the protagonists in the sector of hardware components for mobile devices, such as smartphones and tablets , and officially presents two new processors that we will see a lot on the next smartphones that will hit the market. We’re talking about the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 and Snapdragon 4 Gen 1. These are two processors aimed at non-high-end smartphones, capable of offering balanced performance and the power of artificial intelligence developed at Qualcomm. In the same vein as these products, we have already appreciated the performance of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. Let’s take a look at the main technical characteristics found on the two new Qualcomm processors.

This new processor will be found on medium-high-end Android smartphones. It provides support for shooting images up to 108 megapixels, with HDR for every frame. In addition, the processor incorporates support for the seventh generation of Qualcomm AI Engine, which should guarantee 3 times better performance in terms of artificial intelligence compared to the previous version. In terms of gaming, further improvements have been made, compared to the previous generation of processors, we see an increase in graphics rendering performance of 35%, while processing has been improved by 40%. There is also support for HDR graphical game sessions with frame rates above 60 fps. Video recording is supported up to 4K with a frame rate of 30 fps. We also find support for Qualcomm Quick Charge 4+ technology for fast charging, LPDDR5 RAM memories up to 12 GB and the Qualcomm Aqstic audio standard . For display resolution we find support up to Full HD + with a maximum refresh rate of 120 Hz . Connectivity is ensured by the integration of the Snapdragon X62 5G modem-RF system, which clearly also supports 5G.

This component is intended for the next mid-range devices. In this case, Qualcomm improved CPU performance by 10% and GPU performance by 15% compared to the previous generation of the processor. Also for this processor we find support for shooting at resolutions up to 108 megapixels , with support for the Qualcomm Triple ISP for image processing. This also incorporates multi-frame noise reduction on recorded images and videos. Video recording is supported up to 1080p with a frame rate of 60 fps. We also find support for Qualcomm Quick Charge 4+ technology for fast charging, LP4x @ 2133 MHz RAM memories and the Qualcomm Aqstic audio standard. For display resolution we find support up to Full HD + with a maximum refresh rate of 120 Hz. We find support for artificial intelligence, through Qualcomm’s AI Engine platform . The modem integrated into the processor corresponds to the Snapdragon X51 5G Modem-RF System model, compatible with next-generation 5G networks and with the FastConnect 6200 standard. Qualcomm has announced that the new Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 will be available from Q1 2023, while the new Snapdragon 4 Gen 1 will arrive in Q3 2022, which is September.
