Nokia announces the release of 3 smartphones for less than €500 – Geeko

Nokia unveils the C31, G60 and X30 smartphones. The Finnish brand relies on cheap and solid equipment to distinguish itself from the competition, rather than on technical characteristics.

Little present on the smartphone market, the Nokia brand mainly markets touchscreen tablets and sober and extremely robust mobile phones, derived from the minimalist format that made its glory in the 2000s. It nevertheless benefits from the IFA Berlin, which runs from Friday September 2 to Tuesday September 6, to announce three new entry-level and mid-range smartphones: the C31, G60 and X30. The last two are compatible with 5G.

The C31 is an entry-level smartphone, without 5G: it uses a Unisoc SC9863A1 chip, compatible with 4G only. The HD+ LCD screen measures 6.7 inches and the device has 3 to 4 GB of RAM, as well as a large 5050 mAh battery that will guarantee it long autonomy, and a triple photo module (13 Mpx for the main one, 2 Mpx for the macro sensor and the module dedicated to the depth of field). Its advertised starting price in Europe is just €129.

The G60 presents itself as a large 6.58-inch smartphone, equipped with a Full HD + LCD screen with a refresh rate of up to 120 Hz. It weighs 190 grams and has a teardrop notch for the front camera, by being satisfied with an IP52 certification. It is equipped with a Snapdragon 695 chip, 4 to 6 GB of RAM and storage of 64 or 128 GB, with the possibility of adding a microSD card. It has a large 4500 mAh battery, the charge of which is limited to 20 W, which is not much. Its rear photo block is made up of a 50 Mpx main sensor, a 5 Mpx ultra-wide-angle module and a 2 Mpx depth sensor. The set will go on sale at the reasonable price of €359.

X30, the best of Nokia in photography

Finally, the X30 is the most advanced smartphone of the three. It is equipped with a 6.43-inch Amoled screen, full HD +, 90 Hz), with a Snapdragon 695 chip, 6 to 8 GB of RAM and storage of 128 or 256 GB. It has a 4200 mAh battery , whose load goes up to 33 W. Nokia has the ambition to make it its best smartphone in terms of photography. The main module has a 50MP sensor and stabilized optics that opens at f/1.8, as well as a 13MP ultra-wide-angle module, f/2.4). To the front, the device has a 16 MP photo module.

Nokia is also betting here on the solidity of its product with a smartphone measuring 158.9 x 73.9 x 7.99 mm for 185 grams, with IP67 waterproof certification. The Finnish company also guarantees three updates to the smartphone’s OS, which will run on Android 12. at its output: a way of reassuring about its longevity. The smartphone will go on sale in September and will cost €499.
