Meta unveils its new VR headset on October 11 – Benin News

The company has therefore set a date for the launch of its new product, which its CEO, Mark Zuckerberg, had anticipated a few days ago, indicating that it would be in October, without determining a specific day.

At the time, the executive said that with this device, users could experience “something like eye contact in virtual reality” and that each of the user’s gestures would be materialized in the metaverse.

“Having his face controlled in such a way that his avatar is not just a stationary thing, but… whether you smile or frown. or if you pout or whatever your expression is, let that be translated in real time into your avatar,” he said on Spotify podcast “The Joe Rogan Experience.”

This technology coincides with the Cambria project, presented at the previous edition of Connect, which allows visual contact and eye movements to be reproduced in avatars. real-time expressions thanks to the sensors integrated into the helmet.

The company has announced that Meta Connect 2022 will be held on October 11 and that it will present there “updates on progress” made over the past few months, according to a press release.

The event, which brings together augmented reality (AR) and VR developers, along with creators and industry professionals, will include a keynote and development sessions.
