The parent company of Facebook and Instagram is set to launch the biggest social plan in the history of Californian “big tech”. It thus follows in the footsteps of Twitter and other Microsoft. A new industrial cycle, no longer synonymous with hyper-growth, is in the process of being put in place.

Sconfirmed this Wednesday, as announced on wall street journal, it could be the most important social plan in the history of Silicon Valley, which was believed to be inflated by a wind of uninterrupted growth. While several technology companies have just laid off part of their workforce in response to the economic crisis, Meta (the parent company of Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp) is preparing, in turn, to lay off thousands of people from this week. Meta had some 87,000 employees worldwide as of September 30.
