Julie* is a regular Lidl customer. At least was. Because after her recent experience in a chain store in England, not sure that the woman really wants to go back. She says it herself: “I don’t think I can go back to Lidl! “.

It was on a Facebook group that Julie told of her misadventure at the store checkout. While waiting for her turn, the Englishwoman wanted to react to a joke from the cashier with the customer in front of her. “The guy in front of me had many bottles of liquor in his shopping cart. The cashier therefore asked him, in a joking tone, if he was planning to organize a party. Since I had a mini-bottle of Prosecco in my trolley, I replied ‘I party too! Woohoo!’ “, she wrote in her message relayed by the Mirror.

Except that Julie had forgotten a slight detail. “It wasn’t until I spoke that I realized I had another item in my basket. A cucumber. The cashier looked at me, I looked at him and then, predictably, I burst out laughing. I could barely breathe, ”says the client.

A fun story that Julie can tell her friends. For her groceries, she may have to find another store. “RIP my time at Lidl”.
