Jean-Pierre Foucault has been one of the leading personalities of French television for decades. But after 50 years of career, the former presenter of Sacré Soirée is becoming increasingly rare on the small screen. With the exception of a few programs – the Miss France contest, the Loto draw – Jean-Pierre Foucault does not present a show.

“I practically stopped television, I have the Miss and the French games, but the desire left me” he explained to Didier Barbelivien on Sunday July 31, 2022 on Europe 1. And the host obviously has no regrets. “Life is good. When I watch TV, I don’t say to myself ‘oh I want to be there’, he said. Away from television sets, Jean-Pierre Foucault feels fulfilled: “I am happy as I am.”

The former host of Who wants to be a millionaire remains marked by the death of his friend, Jean-Pierre Pernaut. “We are associated so much that since his death, I have not stopped receiving messages, text messages of sympathy and condolences. It’s true, we were from the same family”, he confided. A blow to morale which should not prevent her from returning to the presentation of the Miss France election in 2023.
