iPhone 14, AirPods Pro 2 and Apple Watch 8: Here’s everything we expect from Apple’s keynote – Newsmonkey

This Wednesday, September 7 will take place the Apple back-to-school conference. An appointment eagerly awaited by aficionados of the brand, because it is traditionally at this time that the Cupertino company presents its new iPhone, but the latter should not be the only announcement of the keynote.

That’s it, it’s back to school. And who says back to school, necessarily says Apple’s keynote – at least, among technophiles. Early September is indeed the period when the tech giant lifts the veil on several new products, including the upgrade of its smartphone.

And this year again, Apple should carry on the tradition. The iPhone 14 will logically be made official this Wednesday, September 7, shortly after 7 p.m. (Belgian time). And as for several years now, the smartphone will be entitled to several models.

iPhone 14 and company

The new version of the iPhone would indeed be available in several versions, including a new model. Exit the mini version and make way for the Plus version. Here are the 4 expected 2022 iPhone models:

  • iPhone 14 (6.1 inch)
  • iPhone 14 Plus (6.7 inch)
  • iPhone 14 Pro (6.1 inches)
  • iPhone 14 Pro Max (6.7 inches)

Several improvements would be on the program, in particular the reduction of the notch on the Pro models. Apple would have finally decided to follow in the footsteps of other manufacturers and opt for openings in the screen, holes, to pass the front camera and other tools necessary for FaceID.

The Always-On mode would be part of the Pro models. The latter allows the screen of the device to remain permanently on without killing the battery. They would also be the only ones to benefit from the new generation of chip, the A16.

There is also talk of a satellite connection which would provide a better network for emergency calls. Finally, prices would be revised upwards.

iPhone subscription

The conference could be an opportunity for Apple to announce the launch or the upcoming arrival of a new subscription. The latter would offer the possibility of enjoying the new iPhone each year as soon as it is released, at a preferential price.

Subscribers could indeed pay monthly or annually for their new iPhone. Once the new model comes out, they would just have to send back the old one. It remains to see the terms provided by Apple.

Apple Watch and co.

Could 2022 be the year of the Apple Watch? It is quite possible, in any case the Apple connected watch should hold an important place during the Apple conference since it is not 1 or 2 models that would be presented, but 3.

Rumor has it that the Cupertino company will unveil an Apple Watch Series 8, accompanied by a new temperature sensor and a new generation of chip, as well as an upgrade to the Apple Watch SE, the model affordable brand. A lighter version in terms of features, with a reduced price.

But the most interesting would be based on the announcement of a brand new model, an Apple Watch Pro. The American firm has indeed decided to offer a more robust model intended for high-level athletes. The watch would have a new design and a larger screen. Its case would also be made of titanium and its price would live up to Apple’s reputation. Count around 1,000 €.

Finally, the AirPods Pro 2

This time it would be good. Apple would plan to announce the successors of the AirPods Pro during this event called “Far out”. Apple’s high-end wireless headphones would have a new chip, the Apple H2, and would benefit from Bluetooth 5.2. Several sound improvements would also be on the program, including a transparency mode, Siri functionalities, and active noise reduction. Apple Lossless Audio could also be there, but nothing is less certain.

The AirPods Pro 2 would also support health-related features, alongside the Apple Watch, to achieve better physical activity tracking.

The release of iOS 16

As usual, Apple would conclude its back-to-school keynote by announcing the launch of the new version of its operating system. Owners of compatible iPhones will therefore be able to enjoy iOS 16 as soon as the event ends.

As for iPadOS 16, you will have to be patient. Apple has indeed confirmed that the OS would be released later than that of the iPhone.

See you on September 7, 7 p.m. (Belgian time) on the Apple site or on its YouTube channel to check all this.
