Lhe Belgian subsidiary of the Spanish bank Santander will raise its interest rates to 1% for its savings accounts. For the “Vision” account, they will increase to 0.40% while the loyalty bonus will increase to 0.20%. For “Vision Plus” accounts, the base rate will increase from 0.05 to 0.20% and the loyalty bonus will increase to 0.80%.

This implies a rate increase of 1%. In comparison, the other traditional Belgian banks offer the legal minimum: 0.11%.

From October 17, Santander Consumer Bank will therefore be the bank offering the best rate in Belgium.

Driver’s license: change from Monday

The change will take place on Monday. Instead of going to the municipality to apply for a provisional permit, it will now be possible to do so online.

In concrete terms, provisional permits without a guide and valid for 18 months can be issued online. Then, all requests for provisional permits can be made online.

For the FPS Mobility, this is “a new step towards digitization”.
