While the French have all the trouble in the world to refuel in recent days, since the strike movement of refinery operators, isolated initiatives reveal the full nature of the chaos that reigns at the moment in certain urban agglomerations. This is the case of this striking example in Villiers-le-Bel, in the Val-d’Oise department (Île-de-France), reported by the continuous news channel.
Indeed, this Monday, several individuals literally took control of a TotalEnergies station. They themselves ensured the filtering of the cars present en masse, giving priority to the inhabitants of their district. They thus prohibited access to others and even offered them their “own fuel, at their price”, specifies RMC. Motorists who do not wish to cooperate were asked to leave the premises. And beware of those who dared to disobey the bosses: some cars were stoned in retaliation.
The revolt was quickly organized among the aggrieved customers and the police were called in to restore order. One of the individuals, in his twenties, was arrested. The others fled. Illegal gasoline cans were confiscated.
