An excuse given by Magali Berdah during her interview in the magazine “Complément d’Enquête” was widely derided on Twitter. The agent of influencers and reality TV candidates had explained to journalist Tristan Waleckx no longer wearing a poor quality connected watch, which she nevertheless promoted on her social networks, because of “tendinitis in her arm”.
“You pretend you’re using this watch when in fact you’ve never worn it. (…) You don’t have it today in any case”, launched the journalist to the founder of the Shauna Events agency. To justify herself, Magali Berdah, a figure of influence in France, therefore explained that she suffered from tendonitis.
A response from the “popess of reality TV” which was quickly taken up and mocked on Twitter. Even by big brands like Tinder or Prime Video.
Faced with the flurry of reactions on social networks, Magali Berdah tried to justify her answer during an interview with the media Brut. The director of the influencer agency claims that the idea of her sentence was understood backwards. “I wanted to say, ‘I have tendonitis in my arm, and wearing a smartwatch helps me. People understood ‘she doesn’t wear the watch because she has tendinitis’ but what I meant is that the connected watches, people who have tendinitis, it helps us not to wear the phone … ”
An explanation that failed to convince (and calm) Internet users. New mockery quickly appeared on Twitter…
