On Monday, during the program “C’est à vous” on France 5, columnist Bertrand Chameroy brought out a passage from the France 24 newspaper of Wednesday September 21. In it, we can see Roselyne Febvre, political manager of France 24, launch the images of the press conference of La France insoumise. The presenter – who does not know that her microphone is still on – begins to criticize the members of LFI: “Do you see the face? Ah bah, I can not blame them, huh! I can’t see them,” she says, as members of the French political party prepare to address the Adrien Quatennens case.

Several members of La France insoumise quickly reacted on Twitter to Roselyne Febvre’s comments. “The head of the political service of France 24 cannot ‘please’ us. A microphone bug and everything becomes clear…“, declares Clémentine Autain, French deputy.

Mathieu Garnier, Nupes candidate and sympathizer of France Insoumise demands an apology: “When Roselyne Febvre journalist France 24 forgets herself live: ‘La France Insoumise… Do you see their face? I can’t hate them.’ And we will talk about the independence of journalism. We demand a public apology“, he says in his post. Other members of the party were also angry at the behavior of the presenter, who has since explained.

Interviewed by the newspaper Liberation, the presenter admitted that her remarks should not have been shared on the air but also that the remarks “you see the head” were intended for the editorialist Pierre Jacquemain. She then asked to put the words “I can’t blame them” in their context, namely the Adrien Quatennens affair and the reaction of Jean-Luc Mélenchon. Moments that shocked her personally.
