If you want to copy a specific text or whole text from an image on your Android phone, you may be wondering to type it on a word document or notepad. Or maybe in a text editor inside your Android phone. But what if I tell you that there are other methods you can use to simply copy text from any image on your Android phone and paste it into any document that you desire. The only question is how you can do it.

Android 12 is currently the latest version of Android on the market and yet there is no default option in gallery which you can use to just copy text from images and paste it anywhere . But inside the iPhone, this feature is available for one year.

As I said, in Android 12 this feature is not yet available, but you can use Google’s other app to simply copy text from any image you want. These apps that you might want to use are called Google Lens.

If you are using Google Chrome on your desktop computer, if you go to an image tab, right-click on it, then you will see the search option with Google Lens. Now you get the idea that Google Lens is an image recognition technology that was developed by Google for image related searches. Currently this feature is not yet available directly on your Android phone, but it does have a separate app which you can download from the Google Play store and then use it to search or simply copy the text from any image.

I think this feature is really cool, and let me remind you that Google Lens only works if you are connected to the internet. So here is how you can use Google Lens on your phone to simply copy text from any image on your Android phone.

Steps to use Google Lens to copy texts from pictures on your Android phone.

As of now, I assume you have already downloaded and installed the Google Lens from the Google Play store on your Android phone.

After downloading the Google lens, tap each one to launch it.

Select an image from your call gallery and then at the bottom you will see many options which by default will highlight them. But since we are trying to copy the text from the image, just go to the text category.

Once you’re in the text category, you’ll see the option to select all or you can just tap listen. But for now you need to tap on select all then wait for a while then you will see option to copy text tap on it.

Once the text has been copied, you can go ahead and paste it wherever you want.

Apparently there are other online tools available that can be useful for copying text from images. The bad news is that most of the site is limited to five or less per day. This means that in one day you can only use seven terms to copy text from images. Apart from this, these websites are filled with Google AdSense ads. This means that if you are using an ad blocker, you are very convenient to use, but if you are not using any blocker, you may be a little irritated by the ads.
