House of the Dragon has just introduced a new creature. Who is she and what is her importance in the plot?

Season 1 of House of the Dragon ended with a bang on HBO. After ten weeks of political and romantic intrigue in Westeros, the series is taking a deserved break on our screens. A second season is on the program, the teams are already preparing for this return which should not take place immediately. Episode 10 nevertheless left a few questions unanswered, and in particular a sequence which will prove to be crucial for the sequel.

The Greens and the Blacks are preparing to engage in a merciless battle. The Dance of the Dragons is launched and it lives up to its name rather well. To the surprise of viewers, and the characters themselves, the dragons have revolted against their masters. Vhagar attacked at Lucerys Velaryon and his dragon Arrax. They did not come out unscathed. It is this event that marks the beginning of hostilities between the two camps, the beginning of a war that will see the dragons set the kingdom on fire and blood (it is well done.)

If the support of the houses of the kingdom is essential, it is not the only table on which the two camps can play. Daemon says it very well:Dragonstone has 13 dragons against 4. Blacks would therefore be in a position of strength, except thatAemond is the rider of the most massive and dangerous of the kingdom: Vhagar. A scene of this episode 10 nevertheless redistributes the cards.

Who is the dragon hidden in the cave?

Daemon– for many episodes already – grants great importance to dragons. The Prince travels Dragonstone in search of eggs and wild specimens for the sole purpose of building his army. He has just made a discovery that puts Blacks in a position of strength. It’s good Vermithor that we see at the bottom of this dark cave. Whereas Daemon sing a ballad upstairs Valyrianthe bronze colossus seems to recognize him as a Targaryen and therefore a dragon master. He will not decide to ride it, having himself already a dragon.

On the other hand, the presence of the Brazen Fury on the Black side is an essential element of the plot of House of the Dragon. We will not say more to preserve the suspense for those who have not read Fire & Blood whose House of tea Dragon is drawn. On the other hand, we can talk about his past and his previous rider. This is Jaehaerys I Targaryen who rode it 100 years earlier. When he dies, he will disappear until Daemon find him.

We will have to wait for season 2 to find out what will happen to this dragon and what role it will play in the battle that will be waged between the clans of Rhaenyra and D’Alicent. In the meantime, you can already immerse yourself in the making-of of episode 10, which is available on YouTube.
