This Saturday, September 17, William and Harry were reunited for a historic vigil with their six cousins, in Westminster Hall, where the body of the queen was exposed for several days, and where thousands of Britons (and not only) him paid their last respects.
If on September 8 Prince Harry was unable to wear his military uniform, due to his withdrawal from the royal family. Exceptionally, for this “vigil of the princes”, Harry was authorized to wear his uniform by Charles III.
A source told the Mirror: “Charles III has the utmost respect for his two sons and their dedication to their military careers. The Duke of Sussex wears his uniform as a sign of respect for his beloved grandmother, but also for the Queen and the country he has served for a decade. The whole family is convinced that it was the right and correct decision. »
However, the Queen’s initials have been removed from Prince Harry’s suit, as reported by Page Six. “He is heartbroken. Removing his grandmother’s initials seems very intentional,’ a friend of the prince told The Sunday Times.
“Devastated”, Harry would have experienced this withdrawal very badly, to the point of hesitating to wear a classic costume so as not to suffer a “humiliation”.
Het Laatste Nieuws clarifies that Prince Andrew always had the Queen’s initials on his suit, even though he had to give up his military titles following accusations of rape.
