As a result, they find themselves forced to buy a second phone in order to associate it with their second profile. Is it possible to connect two WhatsApp accounts on one and the same phone?

WhatsApp is one of the most popular instant messaging apps in the world. A popularity that pushes its users to demand ever more features, including the ability to connect two different accounts on the same mobile. Here’s how to do it on both systems: Android and iOS.

Duplicating on an Android phone

It is possible to connect a second WhatsApp account on the same phone through the settings of the latter, which must nevertheless have two SIM cards and be under Android. Although the name of the function varies according to the brand of smartphone, the principle is the same.

Go to phone settings. Then press the search button which takes the form of a magnifying glass in order to type: “double messaging” on Samsung, “twin application” on Huawei or Honor, “cloned applications” on Xiaomi and “cloner application” on Oppo. At this point, a new window opens with a list of applications that can be duplicated. Choose the WhatsApp application to activate the function. From then on, a message “Install a second copy” will appear on the screen. Click install.

On some models, another tab may appear to have a different contact list on the two accounts. Drag the slider to accept it, then create your list of favorite contacts. Then press the OK key. A second WhatsApp icon will appear near the first version with the distinctive signs: the number 2 or two orange rings. All that remains is to launch the second application and create a new account. To do this, click on “Accept and continue”, then enter the phone number of your second SIM card, then confirm. An SMS will be sent to you afterwards in order to finalize the creation of the second account. Finally, configure your profile to your liking by filling in the requested information.

WhatsApp Business on an iOS phone

Unlike the Android system, the duplication of applications cannot be done on iPhone. However, it is possible to achieve this by simply installing WhatsApp Business. It is, in fact, an official version of the WhatsApp application which, in addition to being free, is intended for purely professional use. It contains interesting options for managing customers and products. This alternative can therefore be used for purely professional purposes or for personal use by simply using the usual options offered by the messaging service.

To do this, simply download the WhatsApp Business application from the App Store. Its green logo, which is characterized by a B inside a chat bubble, will thus appear in the applications menu. Open WhatsApp Business then tap Accept and continue. All you have to do is enter the phone number of your second SIM card and click Next. You will receive a verification SMS to finalize the registration. Note that this function can only be activated on a dual SIM phone. Finally, to activate your profile, all you have to do is register the name of your company and assign it to a category. Finally, press Next.

Like this duplicating method, there are many other tricks that will allow you to enjoy two WhatsApp accounts on the same phone. It is possible to use the web version of the application by accessing it through the Chrome browser for Android or by downloading third-party applications. However, the first alternative is not always functional while the second can be risky whether for your data or your device.
