The Federal Agency for the Safety of the Food Chain (Afsca) is on Friday recalling consumers of Calvé brand peanut sauce due to the possible presence of small pieces of rubber.

These are glass jars of Pindasaus (peanut sauce) from the Calvé brand with an expiry date of May 15, 2023. The one with the spicy taste (350g) has the EAN code 8712100759819 while the “sweet” variant (350g) has the EAN code 8712100759772. The 650g jar “sweet peanut sauce” displays the EAN code 8710908921841.

This recall follows a notification through the European Rapid Alert System Food and Feed (RASFF) due to the possible presence of small pieces of rubber. The Afsca asks not to consume this product and to bring it back to the store.

The product was distributed via various points of sale, indicates the Afsca without however specifying which ones.

For more information, consumers can contact Afsca by telephone on 0800/13.550 or by email at [email protected]
