This morning on the airwaves of RTL, Serge Lama made a big announcement, that of his next retirement. Present to promote his new album, “Aimer”, which will be released on October 7, he revealed that the latter would be the last of his career.
“There is a moment when things stop. You have to know that we get older, that my body makes me suffer a lot, that I have a lot of problems inherent in the passage of time and that therefore, there is a moment you have to know how to stop rather than being stopped. So I decided it was over. It’s my last album. There’s something that hurts, but at the same time, it’s the respect for the public. It’s complicated to live up to what we were at almost 80 years old“, he explained.
Serge Lama is still today one of the most popular French singers. He began his career in the 1960s and released a total of 23 studio albums and nine live albums. “I was lucky enough to be able to sing this album already, at almost 80 years old since I was still a man of voice, so it’s complicated to live up to what we have been. So now I think it’s good that it’s the last round. It’s over now, I think I won’t think about it anymore because it’s done.”added the singer to the microphone of RTL.
No tour on the program so as part of this ultimate album, the singer prefers to preserve his health. However, he did not rule out having a farewell party at the Olympia.
