An adaptation awaited by fans
In a few weeks, the new anime series adapted from the manga Dragon Quest: The Adventure of Dai, by Riku Sanjo and Koji Inada, will come to an end, probably reaching its hundredth episode. An ideal window to release the Infinity Strash video game that Square Enix has been dangling to us for more than two years now. But if the publisher did not finally wish to come forward during the Tokyo Game Show by indicating the release date of the game, he nevertheless split a long presentation to be found right here:
The sequence that really interests us only starts after an hour of broadcasting, so you can go directly to this part of the video if the side projects around the franchise do not speak to you. That still leaves us a good fifteen minutes to discover an overview of the different game modes featured in Infinity Strash – Dragon Quest: The Adventure of Dai! All explanations are translated into English.
The video game mode tour
Like any manga/anime adaptation worthy of the name, the software first highlights a Story mode allowing you to relive the story of the saga based on numerous animated sequences reminiscent of those in the series. Players will be able to control Dai, the heir of the dragon, but also the other disciples of Avan: Popp, Maam and Hyunckel, in large-scale battles leading to boss fights. But that’s not all…
Infinity Strash – Dragon Quest: The Adventure of Dai will also feature a mode called “Temple of Memories” in which the configuration of the dungeons will be renewed randomly at each part and on several levels. The player will have to make choices that will directly affect his progress by, for example, strengthening the abilities of his characters or making additional enemies appear.
The nostalgic fiber
To these two main game modes will be added an original growth system called “Bond Memories” contained in objects that can join the equipment of our heroes. Thanks to these artefacts, the characters will see their statistics reinforced, in particular with regard to their points of life, their defense or their attack power. For manga and anime fans, the interest of this system lies above all in the fact that these items will allow you to collect the memories of the protagonists through scenes featuring major moments in the series’ history. This is precisely what these new visuals present.
Infinity Strash – Dragon Quest: The Adventure of Dai will release simultaneously for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC on a date to be announced soon.
