The price of subscriptions will increase by 37% this year on Disney+.
After having increased its prices for the first time in 2021, Disney will increase the price of its subscriptions to its Disney+ streaming platform a second time at the end of 2022. The cinema giant announces this time a price increase of 37% for its subscriptions monthly and annually. The price of the monthly subscription will thus increase from $7.99 to $10.99 per year, while the annual subscription will increase from $69.99 to $109.99.
For the moment, the price increase is only recorded in the United States, but the prices of subscriptions should also increase elsewhere in the world, in similar proportions.
With more than 150 million subscribers worldwide, Disney+ has now passed Netflix. It records the most impressive growth in the sector. The service owes its success to the arsenal of Disney licenses, but also the many additions to the catalog. This year, Disney added Hulu productions to its international catalog.
Disney remains cautious, however, since alongside its Premium offer, it will also offer a “low-cost” offer, sponsored by advertising. Subscription to this new offer will be billed at $7.99 per month. The formula will be launched on December 8th.
