The death of Queen Elizabeth II will forever mark the history of the United Kingdom. And this is felt everywhere, even in the Center Parcs holiday parks, which will close on Monday, due to the sovereign’s funeral.

The five British Center Parcs will close for 24 hours this Monday, September 19 from 10 a.m., out of respect for the royal family and to give employees the opportunity to follow the funeral. A gesture that not all customers understand.

Families who had booked for this Monday will of course be reimbursed. But this does not at all please some customers, who have made it known on the Center Parcs Facebook page. “Where the hell are we supposed to go for a night?” This is a terrible decision,” one commented.

Penny Smith, from Dover, had booked a five-day stay. “Our grandchildren are upset because their holidays are reduced from five to four days,” she laments in the columns of the Daily Mail.
