The Duke of Sussex was the last member of the Royal Family to arrive at Balmoral Castle last night following news of his grandmother’s death and is the first to leave this morning. He was photographed at 8.28am leaving the royal residence, sitting in a Range Rover.

He then boarded a British Airways plane at Aberdeen Airport bound for Heathrow.

On the tarmac, Prince Harry was filmed comforting an airport worker with a reassuring hand on her shoulder after she offered her condolences. He then boarded the aircraft, escorted by security guards.

Today, the world mourns the death of Britain’s longest-serving monarch as her son ascends to the throne. The Queen’s coffin – draped in the Royal Standard with a wreath of her favorite flowers on top – is said to lie at rest in the ballroom at Balmoral, where she spent every summer with her beloved Prince Philip. Her children and Prince William spent the morning with her, reports the Daily Mail.

Prince Harry will return to his residence of Frogmore Cottage where his wife Meghan Markle is waiting for him, who has not made the trip to Scotland. The couple, who now live in California, were – coincidentally – in the United Kingdom, where they were to attend an awards ceremony on Thursday evening.
