It is the latest in the range of the Romanian manufacturer, and yet, it is already undergoing a restyling. The Dacia Spring takes on the colors of the new Dacia brand identity, like its congeners. The electric city car thus sports new colors, and above all a new logo on its front face.

The full grille of the Spring receives the Dacia Link, the brand’s new emblem. Surrounded by horizontal motifs, this logo seems to join the LED daytime running lights. As on the other models, it is available in the center of the rims of the Spring.

At the level of the rear face and at the bottom of the doors, there are also minimalist letterings which recall the name of the model, its electric motorization or the name of the manufacturer. The little Spring is presented in a new body color called Lichen Khaki, which is contrasted by the Methalite Gray of the roof bars and the mirror shells.

From a technical point of view, nothing changes for this Dacia Spring. After restyling, the city car still features a 44 horsepower E-Tech electric motor associated with a 26.8 kWh battery which gives it a maximum range of 230 kilometers in the mixed WLTP cycle and 305 kilometers in the urban WLTP cycle. Several types of charging are possible, but the fastest is direct current (DC) charging at 30 kW. This allows you to go from 0 to 80% charge in fifty minutes, according to Dacia.

What is the theoretical autonomy of the city car?

Regardless of the finish chosen (Essential or Expression), the Dacia Spring has a 26.8 kWh battery. According to DAcia, this allows it to enjoy an electric range of 230 kilometers in the combined cycle. In urban areas, this autonomy improves, and can reach 305 kilometers. Everything then depends on the style of driving adopted by the driver. But to maximize autonomy, the Dacia Spring has an Eco mode.

What are the opinions on the Electric Spring?

Carried out in June 2021, our test of the Dacia Spring highlights the complete equipment enjoyed by the city car, as well as its rather spacious trunk and the comfort of its rear seat. Our test shows, however, that its chassis lacks rigor, or that its road behavior is not very versatile. But these small flaws are compensated by ease and smoothness of driving. Autonomy – about 200 kilometers in reality – is more than enough for short daily trips.

What is its price in 2022?

It is the cheapest electric car on the market! Dacia is selling its small electric Spring from €19,800, excluding options and the state’s ecological bonus. This price is for the Essential entry-level finish. The Spring Essential is also available for long-term rental (LLD) for €108 per month, with an initial rent increased by €7,900 which can be offset by the ecological bonus. This lease is for 49 months, or 40,000 kilometres. Finally, the Expression finish – a little better equipped – is sold from €21,300 in 2022.

In short

In just over a year of marketing, its price has increased by nearly €3,000. The small electric Dacia Spring is bearing the brunt of the rise in the price of raw materials, which forces Dacia to increase its prices. Count at least €19,800 to offer you this zero-emission city car in 2022. Especially since the Spring receives a slight restyling to match the rest of the Dacia range. Its front end features the new Dacia Link logo, and its bodywork a new color called Lichen Kaki. The 44 horsepower electric motor does not evolve, it is always associated with a 26.8 kWh battery which provides between 230 and 305 kilometers of autonomy.
