Michelle Obama and Beyoncé have already worn her creations! Mary Katrantzou also achieved the feat of being the first designer to parade on the site of the Temple of Poseidon in Athens in 2019. An event that had allowed Vogue to compare Mary Katrantzou’s work to haute couture.

The designer is also a friend of the heir couple of Greece. The eldest son of King Constantine II knows Spetses well, where his parents have lived for the past few years, and he had no trouble finding St. Nicholas Church where little Michael’s baptism took place. Mary Katrantzou and her husband, Marios Politis, even chose Crown Prince Pavlos and Crown Princess Marie-Chantal to be among their son’s godparents.

Evgenia Niarchos, granddaughter of the wealthy Greek shipowner Stavros Niarchos, is also one of the godmothers, as is jewelry designer Sabine Getty, daughter-in-law of Mark Getty. Each godmother wore a dress matching the color of her table. Marie-Chantal was in pink, Sabine Getty in yellow and Eugenie Niarchos in blue.

The ceremony was private, as was the party that followed the religious service. However, many photos have leaked on social networks. You can admire the neat decoration of the round tables in various colors, set up in the open air. We can also see that at the end of the evening, the atmosphere was there. A video is circulating on which we see the Crown Prince Paul starting a sirtaki in the Orlof restaurant, where the festivities continued.

A few days earlier, while he was still at home in the United States, in New York State, Crown Prince Paul had already shown his dancing skills. The heir couple had participated in the famous Blue Dream gala, a charity evening organized by the Greek Orthodox Church of the Dormition of the Virgin Mary of the Hamptons. That evening, the diadoque had actually danced a sirtaki on the tables.
