Guest of the Absolute Geek podcast, Chris Jericho returned to his recent Barbed Wire Deathmatch and he reveals that he does not intend to do another one for a very long time.

He tells us :

“Actually, I have stitches in my inner thigh, a situation that I had never experienced before and which seems a little embarrassing to me. It was pretty brutal, but that’s kind of what we do, it happens sometimes. I think everybody enjoyed it and that kind of match is good for wrestling because people tend to be like ‘oh, that’s not real’, and somebody gets cut by barbed wire and it changes people’s perception.

It’s good to do that once in a while. Will I do another Barbed Wire Deathmatch? I would like to say no. I’ve had two in the 30 years of my career, maybe in 30 years I’ll do a new one.”

During the last episode of Dynamite, the results of which you can find right here, Chris Jericho won his match against Wheeler Yuta, so he will indeed be able to try to become AEW World Champion for the second time against Jon Moxley. A special match for “Lionheart”, as Jon Moxley is the one who ended his 182 day reign as champion.
