Here we go again for the roller coaster at the pump! After falling sharply on Saturday, fuel prices will rise sharply again this Wednesday in Luxembourg. Good news for French service stations!
The respite was short-lived. After a drastic drop in fuel prices last Saturday (-10.8 cents/litre for SP95, -8.3 cents for SP98, and -6.9 cents for diesel), Luxembourg service stations will lose new in attractiveness.
Starting with the diesel the price of which will rise by 9.1 cents, to reach 1.917 euro/l.
follow it SP95 which will increase by 5 cents to reach 1.658 euro/l.
And finally the SP98 will increase by 4.5 cents to cost 1.886 euro/l.
Note that the heating oil 10 ppm S also increased by 9.5 cents (to 1.339 euro/l) and the 50 ppm S 4.9 cents (at 1.337 euro/l)
It is obviously a very bad news for Luxembourg service stations, subject to unprecedented competition from French stations. Since September 1, France has increased its discount on fuel prices from 18 to 30 cents, clearly making Lorraine more attractive than Luxembourg. In recent days, there have even been fuel shortages in French border stations.
