After 4 years of relationship and a marriage, Amber Heard and Johnny Depp divorced in 2016. And since then, they have not stopped accusing each other of domestic violence, until they fought a merciless legal battle. But long before her relationship with the star actor of “Pirates of the Caribbean”, Amber Heard had already been accused of domestic violence against her ex-girlfriend.

On June 1, the court delivered its verdict and put an end (or so we thought) to the legal battle waged by Amber Heard and Johnny Depp since their stormy divorce in 2016. Found guilty of defamation, the actress 36-year-old was ordered to pay Johnny Depp $15 million. A sum since planed to 10 million dollars.

If we thought that this long legal battle was over, the two exes will finally go back to court … On July 21, Amber Heard’s lawyers filed a “notice of intention to appeal”, making the intentions of the official actress. More surprisingly, since he seemed to be satisfied with the verdict, Johnny Depp also decided to appeal according to his lawyers. He had been ordered to pay his ex-wife $2 million, a much smaller sum.

But another case of domestic violence has resurfaced, and could undermine the defense of Amber Heard. Before starting a relationship with Johnny Depp in 2012, the actress was in a relationship for a long time with a woman, the photographer Tasya Van Ree. In September 2009, the “Aquaman” actress was arrested by two police officers at the Seattle airport for alleged “domestic violence”.

At the time, Johnny Depp’s ex-wife was accused of grabbing and hitting her partner’s arm, as well as ripping off a piece of jewelry she was wearing around her neck. The actress had then spent a night in prison. She was then released the next day without being worried: the prosecutor based in Seattle had chosen not to file a complaint against the actress because she and her companion resided in California and did not depend on its jurisdiction.

A case quickly buried that Johnny Depp did not hesitate to put back on the table in a 40-page file sent to the judge of the Fairfax court. Clearly, this legal battle is far from over…
