Already changes to the antenna of SmackDown since the departure of Vince McMahon

Hours before the July 22 SmackDown, Vince McMahon announced to breaking news that he was retiring from WWE.

An episode of SmackDown where WWE was forced to adjust the script of the show with the arrival of Stephanie McMahon to talk about it, but not only that. Indeed, some changes to the antenna have already been perceived if you have been attentive to the show.

The New Day didn’t shy away from talking about NJPW’s IWGP Tag Team Championship and Ring of Honor titles during their time at the commentary table for the Viking Raiders match. Mention of other companies was not authorized by Vince McMahon, with exceptions. Michael Cole also referred to “WWE fans” rather than always saying “WWE Universe”, a term Vince coined.

The Wrestling Observer provided an update on the matter by confirming that with the departure of Vince McMahon, the vocabulary will be larger and freer for WWE Superstars and commentators. Vince McMahon had a very strict view of the thing, but Triple H and Stephanie McMahon would not have the same view, according to their source.

We will have to watch the next episodes of RAW and SmackDown to see if WWE will really enter a new chapter in its history.
