AEW Dynamite Grand Slam Results for September 21, 2022

AEW Dynamite Queens, New York

The commentators are Taz, Tony Schiavone and Excalibur.

– Tonight is AEW Dynamite special Grand Slam 2, the show starts with the commentators who welcome us and Jericho arrives first in the ring.

ROH World Championship – Singles Match

Chris Jericho vs. Claudio Castagnoli (c)

At the end of the fight, Jericho launches into Code Breaker, but Castagnoli blocks him in Uppercut. Castagnoli elbows Jericho and sharpshoots him. Jericho resists and crawls to grab a cable. The referee rejects Castagnoli, Jericho wanted to cheat in Low Blow, but Castagnoli blocks him and makes him his Ricola Bomb to cover him, but Jericho resists! Castagnoli hits Jericho and Springboards, but Jericho blocks him in Code Breaker and covers him, but he resists. Jericho pushes Castagnoli to the ground for his Walls of Jericho, Castagnoli resists and rolls to push him back. Castagnoli punches him in the face and gives him a Giant Swing. Castagnoli clotheslines him and covers him, but Jericho resists. Jericho wants to cheat with his stick, but Castagnoli blocks him. The ref pulls out the stick and Jericho low blows Castagnoli. Jericho continues with his Judas Effect for the count of three.

Winner: Chris Jericho – New Champion

– After the fight, the Jericho Appreciation Society arrives on stage to celebrate with Jericho.

– We present a video on the rivalry between Moxley and Danielson.

– Back after the break, the teams arrive. Max Caster kicks off his rap that they run the town here and it’s the end of Swerve in our Glory day. It’s more Swerve into a joy hole.

AEW Tag Team Championship – Tag Team Match

Swerve in our Glory (Swerve Strickland and Keith Lee) (vs) accompanied by the rapper Fabulous vs. The Acclaimed (Max Caster and Anthony Bowens) accompanied by Billy Gunn and DJ Whoo Kid

At the end of the fight, Strickland wants to cheat with The Acclaimed’s radio, but he hits Lee by mistake when Caster avoids the blow! Caster punches Strickland out of the ring. Bowens takes the tag and does his Neck Breaker on Lee, Caster launches into an Elbow Drop, but his knee drops. Bowens covers Lee, but he resists. Lee fends off Caster and Bowens, and Strickland takes the tag. Caster brings Strickland down with a Back Suplex. Caster gets on the corner, but Strickland gets up and hits him. Strickland takes him on his shoulders and slams him. Lee lifts him up and Strickland powerbombs him to cover, but he resists. Bowens pulls Caster down the ring, but Strickland goes for 450 on The Acclaimed. Billy Gunn argues with Strickland to provoke him. Lee wants to intervene, but the referee pushes him away. Billy takes the opportunity to do his Fameaser on Strickland. Bowens Side Slams Strickland and Caster follows up with a Mic Drop for the three count while Bowens blocks Lee.

Winners: The Acclaimed – New Champions

– After the fight, the new champions celebrate this victory in their hometown.

– Behind the scenes, Lexy is with FTR to get their reaction to this Acclaimed victory. Cash Wheeler says he congratulates all four wrestlers on the match, but they’ve been number one contenders for months. Austin and Colten Gunn arrive. Colten says it’s FTR losing their momentum and still arguing for a title match. Colten says they are jealous of them, younger and more talented.

– Back, Tony Schiavone is on stage with Wheeler Yuta to get his thoughts on the main event. Yuta was going to share his opinion on his partners, but the music by MJF the cut. MJF arrives and says the devil has come to Queens. The crowd sings ”MJF”. MJF says they are all devil worshipers supporting him. MJF says Yuta will never have a reaction like him. It’s because he’s a God to people, people would drink his spit if he could, people would let him have sex with their wives but he doesn’t because he has standards. He is a generational talent. Yuta says MJF is right on some points, a man with more catchphrases than friends. He wants to congratulate him for getting his girlfriend engaged. She is very smart and she will soon find out that MJF is trash. She’s going to abandon him like MJF abandoned us all. MJF says that Yuta just found himself a personality. He came here to wish good luck to the main event wrestlers. They are not fighting for the title, but to lose the title against MJF. Yuta can continue to go to his mentor for advice. Like asking Bryan Danielson how to turn his brain into a scrambled egg. He can also go see Moxley, well no. He can also ask Regal how to take pills. Yuta pushes MJF, but MJF Headbutts him. Schiavone wants to stop him, but MJF pushes him to the ground! Yuta takes the opportunity to thrash MJF, but W Morrissey arrives to strangle Yuta. MJF hits Yuta with his ring.

– Backstage earlier today, Tony Schiavone is with Jade Cargill and the Baddies. Cargill says she fights when she wants. Diamanté arrives and introduces him to his friend for Friday at Rampage, the rapper Trina. Cargill is surprised.

AEW All-Atlantic Championship – Singles Match

Orange Cassidy vs PAC (c)

At the end of the fight, Cassidy does a Diving DDT to PAC. Cassidy follows up with a Tornado DDT to cover it, but PAC resists with two. Cassidy goes for Orange Punch, but PAC catches her and slams her. Pac continues with his Brutalizer, but Cassidy knocks him down in quick count and he resists. Cassidy surprises Pac with an Orange Punch when he gets up and covers him, but Pac grabs a cable! Pac steps out of the ring and takes the hammer to ring the bell, he hits Cassidy in the face with the hammer as he approaches without the referee seeing the gesture. Pac brings Cassidy back into the ring and covers for the win.

Winner: PAC

– Back, the wrestlers arrive.

Interim AEW Women’s Championship – Fatal 4-Way Match

Britt Baker accompanied by Rebel vs. Serena Deeb vs. Athena vs. Toni Storm (c)

At the end of the fight, Storm manages to keep control over Athena. Baker wants to surprise Storm with a Roll Up, but Storm knocks her into a Roll Up for the three count.

Winner: Toni Storm

– After the fight, Baker is furious and hits Storm on the back. Baker begins to pummel Storm, but Jamie Hayter arrives and stops her. Hayter and Baker turn around and they hit Storm! Athena wanted to stop them, but Deeb keeps her down. Baker finishes with a Stomp on Athena and prepares in Lock Jaw, but a music starts and Sarah (Paige) step into the ring! Baker’s clan flees and Saraya waves home!

– A video is shown of Darby Allin walking up to Arthur Ashe saying he’s going to a funeral.

– Back, the wrestlers arrive for the main event. William Regal is with the commentators and MJF is in a box with his token to watch the game.

AEW World Championship – Singles Match

Vacant title, Grand Slam tournament final match.

Jon Moxley vs Bryan Danielson

At the end of the fight, Moxley Stomps Danielson and continues with his Death Rider to cover him, but Danielson resists two! The two get up and chain the blows. Danielson takes over and punches him in the face. Danielson continues with a Triangle Sleeper, Moxley wants to push him back, but Danielson applies a LeBell Lock to him. Moxley puts his foot on a cable to stop the submission. Moxley goes up the ramp, Danielson follows, but Moxley Death Rides him on stage! Danielson rolls into the ring, Moxley covers him, but Danielson resists! Moxley continues with a Rear Choke, Danielson resists and wants to push him back, but Moxley continues the submission. Danielson resists, but no longer responds, the referee stops the match.

Winner: Jon Moxley via submission – New Champion

– After the fight, William Regal arrives in the ring to help Moxley up and celebrate, but Danielson gets up and takes the belt away from Moxley! The three argue and the show ends like this.
