1987. The career of Rick Astley takes off thanks to the title “Never gonna give you up”, which will remain the singer’s one and only hit. Twenty years later, his song finds a second life on YouTube, thanks to fake links that redirect Internet users to the clip of the song in question. And this year, Rick Astley is back to celebrate 35 years of his cult video, which now has more than 1.2 billion views on YouTube.

Now 56 years old, the British artist returns to the front of the stage, with an identical reproduction of his clip from the time! Same sets, same choreography and same clothes: Rick plays the nostalgia card thoroughly, and this, for our greatest pleasure.

On the other hand, if you thought it was a simple tribute, think again. This true copy version 2022 is actually… an ad for an American insurance company! The lyrics of the song echo the things that this company would never do to its customers, namely “let them down”, “abandon them” or even “say goodbye”. Pretty well thought out!

So, we can’t resist the urge to see the original clip again…
